Hi, everybody! If you're reading this, you've found us in cyberspace! I decided to start this blog as a way to keep track of the daily goings-on of our little family. As anyone who's ever had small children knows, each day is full of many moments that run the continuum between mundane and heartwarmingly amazing! In the day to day busy-ness of life, it's easy to lose track of all the little wonderful things that happen each day. I've not been the best mommy when it comes to maintaining scrapbooks, baby books, and photo albums. (I'm going to get to it SOME DAY, though!) I really enjoy writing, but finding the time to sit down and put pen to paper is tough! This blog is my attempt to do a better job of documenting the wonderful craziness that is our life with two sweet and busy little girls! Hope it gives you a little smile each time you read it. :)
So to start, I'll tell a funny story that happened today. Megan and Rachel each received a Valentine in the mail from Nana and Papa. Megan was so excited to open hers and discover that a $5 bill was enclosed! Bill told Megan that it was for her to get some ice cream. Well, when Rachel opened her card, there was a $5 bill in hers too! Megan got quite concerned, and said, "Rachel's not allowed to have ice cream." (this is not really true, but whatever...) Megan then proceeded to tell me that since Rachel couldn't have ice cream, I should give Rachel's $5 to Megan instead. I tell you, this girl is ALWAYS thinking!
Rachel's wheels sure do turn, too....this afternoon after I read her a story before nap time, she had this entire conversation with me, which went on for about 3 minutes! I really had no idea what she was saying, but I know SHE knew EXACTLY what she was saying! She even would pause to let me comment, and would inflect her voice at the end of a "sentence" to make it sound like a question. Sometimes she gets very frustrated with me when I don't understand her, but today she just enjoyed the give and take. Too funny. Someday I'm sure she'll tell me everything she was trying to say!
