Here's some video of Rachel riding her pedal-less tricycle today. We bought it for her about a week ago, and she LOVES it! She gets very excited when we go outside and will always ask for it, saying, "Bike!" She really gets going on it. She does prefer to go down the street to the right of our house, though, because it's downhill that way. Usually when it's time for us to turn around and head toward home (and therefore, head uphill), she says, "No, Mama!" and throws a fit, or will just say, "Done" and get off the trike. We're often left carrying the tricycle the rest of the way home (and sometimes the girl, too, kicking and crying!). It's really cute to watch her powering it down the sidewalk, a la Fred Flintstone in his car. Her little legs go so fast, it looks as if she's running along.
One more little funny thing....tonight we went to Applebee's for dinner, and there was a carousel horse mounted in there (you know, along with all the other memorabilia type decor they have). Rachel said, clear as day, "I wan ride pony, Mama." She kept saying this, and we kept telling her that she couldn't ride the pony, to which she would respond, "Why?" (her new favorite phrase for everything!). We'd tell her that it was just for looking at, not for riding on, and the question would start over again.
Now, for those of you keeping track who get irritated when I only talk about one of the kids in a given post (ahem, Stacey!), here's a Megan story to balance it out....the other day we were parking the van and I commented that "The guy next to us didn't park very well." To which Megan, not missing a beat, replied, "How do you know it's a guy? It could be a girl." Smart girl, that one, always thinking!
